Trying to keep up with the last few fall collections for London Fashion Week. Here’s exciting stuff from Temperley London, David Koma and Meadham Kirchhoff!
You always expect a clean, regal and sophisticated collection from Temperley and this time they caught everyone by surprise. It’s still all that, but with ethnic and Byzantine prints they just made the label more global. I just love the blue and gray prints, the quilted jackets and coats, the grey satin dress with the orange and red floral print, it’s stunning and...
The fall collections from London Fashion Week continue!
The palette feels very last season (or before that) but I liked the grey and patterned outfits more. It’s a ix with a lot of different ideas but I did like the fitted dresses in different fabrics and the detailing around the waist. They look very modern.
The collection has a slow start but there are some very innovative pieces here. The cut...
More reviews of fall collections from London Fashion Week here. Peter Pilotto and Paul Smith have amazing collections. Not too excited about the Jonathan Saunders one though.
Ill-fitting coats are a turn off. The theme of the collection is more of a recycled look or putting things together to create a look. It’s evident with the patchwork dresses but just doesn’t look appealing. The metallic champagne coloured dress is pretty great though. But overall, I’m just not feeling...
More awesomeness from London Fashion Week fall collections! Vivienne Westwood’s Red Label line, Mary Katrantzou and Matthew Williamson!
Vivienne Westwood Red Label
The collection goes back in time recreating signature looks. It’s wearable fashion and outerwear. People who desperately need good designer work wear will love this. I do like the blue and grey plaid suit and the ruby jumper. That red coat with the lapels forming a heart is just gorgeous. I like the black finale dress as...
The Julien Macdonald fall collection is stellar! Also reviewing, House of Holland and Pringle of Scotland. I did not intend that sentence to turn out that way…
House of Holland
It’s a very electric collection but not really for me. I don’t really like this particular fir and polka dot combination. The metallic skirts and printed trousers are some of the things I do like though.
Pretty fall collections from Preen, Marios Schwab and Topshop at London Fashion Week!
With it’s second collection Preen Line in tow, Preen is proving to be quite the label. Another Star Wars reference! This time dedicated solely to Darth Vader and again not entirely convincing like the Rodarte one. I’m not sure if its endorsement for the new movie or the motive, but either way I’m not too happy with the result. I’d rather wear a t-shirt from Cafe Press. That aside, the rest of the collection is actually quite good with the geometric patterns. The bright orange red coat and the sheer dress looks...
More fabulous fall collections from London Fashion Week by J.W. Anderson and also Belstaff and Richard Nicoll. Belstaff is quickly becoming a new favourite!
There was a lot of focus on the silhouette. While I’ve chosen to focus on the more wearable pieces here, most were utterly sculptural. There’s a lot of experimentation with seams, folds and pleats. That one camel look aside, they all seem like an unfinished thought.
I’m not too excited over these collections but they are pretty unique. Here’s John Rocha, Markus Lupfer and Daks from London Fashion Week.
It’s more sculptural, this collection but we’ve seen it before. The one dress that intrigues me is the black dress with sheer layers and very 3d floral applique. It’s not a novel idea but it’s one that keeps this collection more approachable. The knit and leather cutouts together make for an interesting technique but visually, I don’t find it very...
Time to look back at fall collections for London Fashion Week! Amazed at Duro Olowu’s collection!
It was knitwear through and through! I loved those blue and indigo shades used with black. Can’t imagine how all that volume was made with the dresses and long coats look amazing! The crop top and skirt with the scalloped end also looks great. It’s a very cozy collection!
I’m always fangirling over...
I’m in love with these three collections, Marchesa is back on the game this season and Anna Sui and Proenza Schouler collections are stunning as always.
I was a horrid collection last spring but it’s quickly erased from my memory with this one. It’s very elegant, intricate and rich. I love the warm palette and the lace work. That blue dress with the draping is amazing. I think that ochre or mustard yellow colour is really going to be a trend, it looks stunning the way they’ve done...
This is one of the last fall collections from New York Fashion Week. Ralph Lauren was amazing but J. Mendel and Marc Jacobs were great too.
I just love how bright and colourful this collection is. Right off the bat, the coat sets the tone. It’s all bold, edgy and very very wearable. I love the teal leather dress and the mesh/weave like gowns, so intricate. The draped gowns look very whimsical and I like how simple they...
Floored by the new Lyn Devon collection, but there’s also Nanette Lepore and Reed Krakoff! More fall collections from New York Fashion Week!
I’m loving the asymmetric hemline and the oxblood prints. There’s a lot of comfortable wearable clothes which is what I think the prime customers demand, I wish there was more punch to it though.
THIS is how you do oversize in a wearable way. It’s clean, structured, you...
A very varied mix of collections from Elie Tahari, Pamella Roland and Oscar de la Renta. They are stunning though! All from New York Fashion Week.
It seems to capture every kind of dweller in New York. The clothes are very urban and wearable but some detail that makes it unique. I love the leather jackets and the green cape like coat. The tweed and leather mix dress is edgy and modern.
There’s an undeniable geometric aspect to the...
Love these fall collections from Narciso Rodriguez, Bibhu Mohapatra and Michael Kors!
There’s a a lot of well made tailored clothing, including the oversize ones. There’s that familiar colourblock scheme running through but the bright orange red pieces are stunning. The little dress with the silver sequins running through it also looks great.
It’s the lines that create such a stunning effect in...
This post features a Star Wars reference, how often can you do that in a fashion post? Well, unfortunately, it’s not in good taste. Here are the fall 2014 collections from Badgley Mischka, Vera Wang and Rodarte!
Such an incredible collection by the duo! Gold is back! There is so much intricate work, the gowns are stunning especially the finale one. The slinky antique gold sequin gown is gorgeous. I also liked the day pieces, leopard was incorporated tastefully. The high fur collars also add richness to the classic...
