Fall 2014 RTW : Bottega Veneta, Roberto Cavalli and Jil Sander

Fall 2014 RTW : Bottega Veneta, Roberto Cavalli and Jil Sander

Incredible collections from Roberto Cavalli, Jil Sander and Bottega Veneta, all from Milan Fashion Week. Roberto Cavalli's in particular is amazing.     Bottega Veneta It's very ladylike, this collection. With just dresses and all in a similar silhouette, it's been given more depth with the use of patterns in the form of lines, curves and puzzle like arrangements. It's very wearable, even for workwear. There's a black and white dress with looks so light, it's clinched at the waist and looks incredible. The light grey and beige dress with the leather panels.…Read more
Fall 2014 RTW : Etro, Versace and Marni

Fall 2014 RTW : Etro, Versace and Marni

Here are ┬áthree execllent fall collections from Milan Fashion Week; Etro, Versace and Marni! Etro is really iconic!   Etro I seem to perfer collections drawn on culture (when done appropriatelt ofcourse). The tops, long flowing dresses with a myriad of prints and embroidery. It's a muted and warm collection, makes to think of a sunny place.   Versace With a bias cut mastered, this collection keeps the Versace moto well in mind. The dresses are fitted and very flirty. I love how they move. I'm more partial to the Raspberry red over…Read more
Fall 2014 RTW : Blumarine, Emporio Armani and Antonio Marras

Fall 2014 RTW : Blumarine, Emporio Armani and Antonio Marras

More fall madness from Milan Fashion Week, here are collections from Blumarine, Emporio Armani and Antonio Marras!   Blumarine I love the kimono-esque clothes, that gold and black fabric looks so rich. The cape witht he gown is also very impressive. Overall, there are many likeable pieces like the layered mini skirts and lace dresses with the slight ruffle at the hem.   Emporio Armani It starts of a bit masculine and vintage, the tailoring is perfection though. It slowly branches out into more feminine silhouettes with softer shades. I love the sparkling…Read more
Fall 2014 RTW : Max Mara, Fendi and Just Cavalli

Fall 2014 RTW : Max Mara, Fendi and Just Cavalli

Love these fall collections from Milan Fashion Week, Max Mara in particular. Also reviewing, Fendi and Just Cavalli.   Max Mara It's THE collection for "proper" winterwear. There's wearable oversize and classic fabrics and colours in modern cuts. I also like the more fitted pieces like the olive blazer and grey tweed coat. You also have tweed in the form of a puffer jacket which is fresh. Fendi It's hard to pick one trend here, I like the prints, it's very modern. The more classic pieces with the zipper details feel very nuanced…Read more
Fall 2014 RTW : Prada, Costume National and Moschino

Fall 2014 RTW : Prada, Costume National and Moschino

These are some very strong collections from Prada and Moschino. Also reviewing Costume National from Milan Fashion Week.     Prada It's Prada taking inspiration from art yet again and it's beautiful. You can see the difference in the feminine sleek clothing and the masculine oversized one layered over it. Eventually it breaks through and merges together to form something very beautiful. I really like the sheer dresses with the piping. Costume National There's a nice mix of activewear and tailored fashion. I don't find it too flattering though, possibly the only thing…Read more
Fall 2014 RTW : Gucci, Alberta Ferretti and Ports 1961

Fall 2014 RTW : Gucci, Alberta Ferretti and Ports 1961

I thought I'd get started on collections from Milan Fashion Week starting with Gucci, Alberta Ferretti and Ports 1961!   Gucci My jaw dropped when I saw this, it's so basic on the outside but just the finesse is so stunning. I love the use of muted pastels, the leather which looks so luxe and structured. Every look is perfection. I really like the coats and that yellow leather dress. Alberta Ferretti The inspiration is nature and birds intertwined. There's that dirty gritty side of nature portrayed so artistically here. There is so…Read more
Fall 2014 RTW : Erdem, Burberry Prorsum and Tom Ford

Fall 2014 RTW : Erdem, Burberry Prorsum and Tom Ford

The final installment of London fashion Week and my favourites Erdem, Burberry Prorsum and Tom Ford.   Erdem Erdem is always very feminine and flattering, no different this time round. The black dress with lace and cut outs in velvet looks amazing. The gold jacquard, embellishments, there are a lot of ideas here and it's done beautifully. I love it when a collection is so wearable.     Burberry Prorsum All the art is hand painted! You always wonder how a trenchcoat can be reinvented and what a look! they look so light…Read more
Fall 2014 RTW : Temperley London, David Koma and Meadham Kirchhoff

Fall 2014 RTW : Temperley London, David Koma and Meadham Kirchhoff

Trying to keep up with the last few fall collections for London Fashion Week. Here's exciting stuff from Temperley London, David Koma and Meadham Kirchhoff!   Temperley London You always expect a clean, regal and sophisticated collection from Temperley and this time they caught everyone by surprise. It's still all that, but with ethnic and Byzantine prints they just made the label more global. I just love the blue and gray prints, the quilted jackets and coats, the grey satin dress with the orange and red floral print, it's stunning and simple. David…Read more
Fall 2014 RTW : Antonio Berardi, Christopher Kane and Roksanda Illincic

Fall 2014 RTW : Antonio Berardi, Christopher Kane and Roksanda Illincic

The fall collections from London Fashion Week continue!   Antonio Berardi The palette feels very last season (or before that) but I liked the grey and patterned outfits more. It's a ix with a lot of different ideas but I did like the fitted dresses in different fabrics and the detailing around the waist. They look very modern.   Christopher Kane The collection has a slow start but there are some very innovative pieces here. The cut out "cross section" like sleeves are something new! I also like the crystals that look like…Read more
Fall 2014 RTW : Jonathan Saunders, Peter Pilotto and Paul Smith

Fall 2014 RTW : Jonathan Saunders, Peter Pilotto and Paul Smith

More reviews of fall collections from London Fashion Week here. Peter Pilotto and Paul Smith have amazing collections. Not too excited about the Jonathan Saunders one though.   Jonathan Saunders Ill-fitting coats are a turn off. The theme of the collection is more of a recycled look or putting things together to create a look. It's evident with the patchwork dresses but just doesn't look appealing. The metallic champagne coloured dress is pretty great though. But overall, I'm just not feeling it.   Peter Pilotto With a new Target collection, Peter Pilotto has…Read more
