Spring 2015 RTW : Paris Fashion Week : Part Three

Spring 2015 RTW : Paris Fashion Week : Part Three

So this is the final post covering Spring 2015; it's part three (the finale) of Paris Fashion Week and this post is just filled with all the big name fashion houses. I suppose overall, the collections that really stuck with me were The Row, Luisa Beccaria, Etro, Naeem Khan and Erdem. Starting off with Chanel, if you haven't seen it in news already, it was a lovely feminist gesture. But with reference to the actual clothes, I liked that they were simpler silhouettes, relying on colours for the edge. The watercolour print is…Read more
Spring 2015 RTW : Milan Fashion Week : Part Two

Spring 2015 RTW : Milan Fashion Week : Part Two

Hey guys! Here's the second and final part of Milan Fashion Week SS15. You can catch up with Part One here. I tend to like Versace's sensual dresses, they always know how to show off a body. It was a stunning change to find more contemporary silhouettes and perforated cut out patterns. I loved how lux the grey-taupe gowns looked at the Giorgio Armani show. It's a difficult colour which looks graceful but dull. The jackets and blazers were another feature. Pleated prints were the highlight of Roberto Cavalli's show and they were…Read more

Fall 2014 Couture Collections

Hey guys! I hope you might have noticed, Xuvious.com has a new layout! I got kind of bored with the old one and I really wanted to improve the navigation. So the menu is more streamlined and there are also more ways of browsing the site (as can be seen in the sidebar). I also made it responsive so it'll be better to view on a tablet or mobile. Let me know if you like the changes or if you find any bugs/broken links! That aside, here are the Fall 2014 Couture collections!…Read more
Spring 2014 Couture : Giambattista Valli, Alexis Mabille and Chanel

Spring 2014 Couture : Giambattista Valli, Alexis Mabille and Chanel

The spring couture shows at Paris continued with exceptional collections from Giambattista Valli with his floral magnificence, Alexis Mabille with the artful elegance and Chanel with the icy and young collection. They are stellar and very red carpet worthy! Giambattista Valli It's a collection that any girl would dream off but rather than going the pastel route, Valli used striking contrasts that made the collection bold. I love the draping in the bow shape, almost a peplum but not quite, it looked very elegant. The appliques are placed perfectly really make a statement.…Read more
Spring 2014 RTW : Chanel, Giambattista Valli and Valentino

Spring 2014 RTW : Chanel, Giambattista Valli and Valentino

Spring 2014 RTW at Paris Fashion Week : Chanel, Giambattista Valli and Valentino   Chanel I like seeing Chanel in pink. The sheer brightness of it was surprising but the less loud shades like purples and berry toned pinks looked really good. I love the pearl accessories in this collection. The array of colours really reminded me of the Alberta Ferretti collection but looked really vibrant. That swimsuit is killer.     Giambattista Valli Feminine clothing has always been his forte and this time round there was symmetric draping, volume and the lightness…Read more
Fall 2013 Couture : Giambattista Valli, Atelier Versace, Jean Paul Gaultier and Ulyana Sergeenko

Fall 2013 Couture : Giambattista Valli, Atelier Versace, Jean Paul Gaultier and Ulyana Sergeenko

So here's my final post on the Fall 2013 Couture collections. Giambattista Valli in a gorgeous floral collection, Atelier Versace bringing sexy back, Jean Paul Gaultier and cougars and finally, Ulyana Sergeenko with her take on vintage with a modern twist.   Giambattista Valli Inspired by porcelain, I love this collection. The silhouettes are daring but look less harsh because of the beautiful prints and embroidery. Atelier Versace There was a lot of skin at the Verace show but some very coveted pieces as well. The coat with the logo belt and detailing…Read more

Fall 2012 Couture : Giambattista Valli

Valli's couture collection paints the picture of a beautiful garden. With peaks of volume and prints, the collection is beautiful. The transition from red to green makes the contrast colours look very harmonious. I love the use of feathers to accentuate the waist and the applique. To imagine all this done by hand, you can truly appreciate the craftsmanship. I love the green flowy¬†gowns and the high ruffle neck ones. I also liked the one shoulder green and black print gown with the layered skirt. Each piece is so unique and yet they…Read more
