Fall 2014 RTW : Prabal Gurung, Jill Stuart and Jenni Kayne

More fall collections at New York Fashion Week. Prabal Gurung's collection is stellar but Jill Stuart and Jenni Kayne also made their mark.   Prabal Gurung Like most designers, Parabal Gurung takes inspiration from his travels. This time it's Nepal and the kingdom of Mustang. You can see the reference in the heavy layering that distinct shade of red. It's dark but not vampy, it has that recognizable Himalayan feel to it. The collection is quite top heavy with jumpers, cardigans, turtlenecks all layered but only flowing chiffon skirts at the bottom. There's…Read more

Fall 2013 RTW : Jenni Kayne, Sally LaPointe and Jason Wu

Fall 2013 RTW : Jenni Kayne Jenni Kayne's collection embodies clothes that matter and can be worn very well. I've always loved that about her collections. A stylized leopard print makes it look some very different and goes very well with layered bold colours. I also like the paisley print on the metallic skirt. Spring 2013 RTW : Jenni Kayne

After her resort collection, Jenni Kayne has bright back aztec/Mexican prints. You have a lot of easy to wear clothing here. I love the navy and red trousers. The colour blocked orange and navy maxi looks great as well. The neon pink gown and the striped skirt look really refined and polished. I love a lot of pieces in this collection but I'm just not THAT excited over it.                                     Image Credit | Complete CollectionRead more

Resort 2013 : Jenni Kayne

Jenni Kayne's resort collection has a mix of fabrics. From tweed, to knitwear and a fantastic Mexican print. That print is so colourful and fun, it's the highlight of the show. I love the shorts in it. Rest of the clothing is in neutral whites and beiges which offers a good contrast to the former. The silhouettes are very flattering and cut in a way that would suit all body types.                     Image Credit : Style.com | Entire CollectionRead more
