Spring 2015 RTW : New York Fashion Week : Part Two

Hello people! here's the second installment of Spring 2015 RTW New York Fashion Week! You can catch up with part one here.   I'll come out and say it, I'm not the biggest fan of the active wear Alexander Wang aesthetic. I don't necessarily get it. But I do recognize certain collections, like last season's that was spectacular. This one in comparison is a bit uninspiring and feels too literal. The canvas shoe dresses and heavy beaded tops look great on first glance but not very wearable. I do however, like the crop…Read more

Fall 2014 RTW : Yigal Azrouël, Lela Rose and Derek Lam

Amazing fall collections from Yigal Azrouël, Lela Rose and Derek Lam at New York Fashion Week. You can see more collections here.   Yigal Azrouël The genius is in the details. I love the zipper details on the sleeves. The pieces look so classic and yet there is that mix of textures and zipper carefully placed that update the look. I like the leather dress with seams running across. The biker style jacket with knit sleeves is another favorite. Overall, it's a very urban collection.     Lela Rose Lela Rose always conjures a…Read more

Spring 2014 RTW : Lela Rose, Tracy Reese and Delpozo

Spring 2014 RTW at New York Fashion Week : Lela Rose, Tracy Reese and Delpozo Lela Rose Inspired by Danish architecture, Lela Rose's collection has that modernist look with creating spaces and dimension within the garment with colours and shapes. I love the lilac dress and the satin orange floral one.   Tracy Reese Tracy Reese had a very upbeat collection encompassing lace, checks, comfort etc. I love the blue and orange polka dot dress with that duochrome induced effect.   Delpozo This is debut collection for Madrid based Delpozo and it's a…Read more

Fall 2013 RTW : Lela Rose, Catherine Malandrino and Derek Lam

Lela Rose Lela Rose has a collection with details and a lot of abstract prints. But it's what she does best and yet the collection is very wearable. I love the black and orange peplum dress with different prints for each section. The satin like pieces with the black embroidery is very chic. The cocktail dresses with the feather bottom like the delicate white one is stunning.   Catherine Malandrino The collection's winning card was the embroidery over the nude panel. It has a vintage look to it but the patterns themselves…Read more

Spring 2013 RTW : Lela Rose

I think Lela Rose's collection has two different views showcased. The first half has beautiful draping and prints in gorgeous dresses. The later looks like a bridal collection. I love the vest and shorts in the lime green and grey print. It's cut is amazing. I like the  graphic blue and black print as well. There are a lot of distinct looks here, they are all wearable though and look great.                                            …Read more

Resort 2013 : Lela Rose

Lela Rose's collection consists of pencil dress and silhouettes that certainly shape the body well. I like the colour blocked orange dress, the ivory strapless gown with the embellished bodice. I like that all outfits here have something unique about it, be it the print, technique or colour. The backless cobalt blue gown is gorgeous. I feel that the collection lacks separates though.                                     Image Credit : Style.com | Entire CollectionRead more
