Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey

Ahhh…. it’s Monday again!! While I try to beat the Monday blues with a nice cup of tea, I also attempt to be concise and objective about this review. Why? Because I love it so much, that I explode with !!!!! every few seconds!!! See what I mean? Well, the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain’s have had tricky record in India I think. They started out with some popularity when launched and while the product is good, people were concerned about the price. But then came along Lakme Pop Tints which were more exorbitant and out went the apprehension about the Kissable Balm Stains! I am quite late to review this, but I’ve been using it for almost 2 months now and I have...

Mac Superglass in Fab Frenzy

Mac Superglass in Fab Frenzy

This is a post about how excitement induced by the sight of glitter, can overcome logic and reason. You’ll have to see the photos to know what I mean. I first came across the Superglass collection on Temptalia’s site.  And it was like love at first sight. I remembered seeing these on StrawberryNet and so I lurched for them! It was on discount, I took it as a sign from the universe and bought it promptly in the shades Fab Frenzy and Totally Bang! Now that the story’s ended, let me rave about this lip gloss a little more. This is not the best lip gloss in terms of consistency and there are some parts of the finish that I do not like. But, I haven’t come across...

Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss in Sunset Peach

Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss in Sunset Peach

Hey guys! I had picked up this lip gloss a few months ago. Revlon’s Colorburst Lip Gloss range is the best even it comes to quality and value for money. I also have the shades Papaya and Rose Gold. Sunset Peach also lives up to the hype! Sunset Peach in the tube is a light peach with gold and silver shimmer. It’s definitely a sheer lip gloss, not as pigmented as others in the range. It doesn’t transfer too much colour on the lips. For very pigmented lips, unless you just want that light glossy effect, this won’t really impart much colour. Hence this is best used layered over a lipstick if you want to add more shimmer or warm up the colour. I love using this over nude...

Mac Fast Play Lipstick

Mac Fast Play Lipstick

Hello kittens! I was visiting the Mac store for what seemed like the n-th time!! I was hoping they had Crosswires in stock (which they still don’t). Oh well, I’ll try again soon. Anywho, I went in to buy bright lipsticks and came out with Fast Play instead. I have to say, it was better use of my money because this is a lipstick I wore everyday for quite a while. Fast Play has the honour of falling into the “office appropriate” category! This is an amplified creme lipstick which means it’s thick and creamy but feels very light weight on the lips. It’s also very moisturising, your lips don’t feel dry at all. I love the formula of this. It can overtime...

The Body Shop Hemp Lip Conditioner

The Body Shop Hemp Lip Conditioner

This winter I had more than one best friend and it was The Body Shop Hemp Lip Conditioner!  I actually had two of these. One was in purse which was with me all the time I was out and one was at home. What I like about this lip balm is that it’s thick and feels like you have petroleum jelly on you without looking gloopy or too shiny. It’s not a thin consistency like the lip butters but thicker. It’s incredibly moisturizing and keeps the dryness away! If you get really dry and irritated lips (especially the edges) like I do, the minute you out this on, you get instant relief! I will say however, this is not a complete solution to dryness. If you have chapped lips, it will...

Chanel Rogue Allure Lipstick in Coquette

Chanel Rogue Allure Lipstick in Coquette

Once upon a time, I took a plunge into the high end makeup world and fished this out of the pool! I wanted a good and unique coloured lipstick and was very impressed with the Chanel Rogue Allure satin lipstick that everyone was raving about. I came across the shade Coquette and I fell in love with it. This is possibly the only true pink like shade I own. It looks darker in the tube, but in when worn its a true pink but slightly coral kinda shade. It also had fuchsia microshimmer that it makes it truely unique. While the lipstick a warm pink, the shimmer is a cool toned fuchsia and that makes it a great combination. The Rouge Allure range is for satin finish lipsticks. It has a huge colour...

Mac Blankety Lipstick

Mac Blankety Lipstick

So I’m back with makeup reviews for the weekend! Today I’ll be reviewing Mac’s Blankety. It’s a lipstick that’s very popular as a nude and being an amplified cream lipstick, it’s super moisturizing and comfortable to wear. So last year I was going through a nude lip phase which is when I came across Blankety and purchased it. Now I know for my skintone, the swatches can look a bit scary, when I never put it on so heavily when I do use it. I generally pat it on my lip and that gives me a good nude lip. But I thought I should swatch it with the full intensity for you guys. Blankety (such a cozy name!) is a muted browny pink. It looks very warm in the tube...

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Peach Parfait

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Peach Parfait

Hello folks! This will be the last of my Revlon lip butters. This shade is one of the most popular ones, it’s very wearable and suits a lot of skintones as well. Peach Parfait is a peachy coral colour with dense gold shimmer. The colour is light but it adds a nice warm tint to your lips. People who generally dislike shimmer in lipsticks should stay clear from this as it’s quite a lot and can be very distracting. The shimmer isn’t very subtle and feels rather rough against your lips. Most of the lip butters have a weightless feel to it, but the shimmer in this one counteracts that. It applies evenly and glides on like butter. The lipstick is quite sheer so you need to swipe...

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Cotton Candy

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Cotton Candy

It’s time to review another Revlon lip butter! You can view all the other lip butter posts I’ve made so far here. Cotton Candy is actually one of the most unique shades of lipstick I own. It’s a very lip gloss colour that I own as a lipstick. Cotton Candy really does look like what the name suggests. It’s a very blue-toned pink with a hint of lilac in it. But the most gorgeous part about the lipstick is it’s golden sheen. it have lovely gold microshimmer that really sets this apart. Normally, a lipstick of this colour would make me look dead. the pink itself isn’t that flattering on dusky skintones. But the gold sheen adds to warm to it. The lipstick...

Maybelline Super Stay 14hr Lipstick in Eduring Ruby

Maybelline’s newest launch is the Super Stay 14Hr lipstick. It’s supposed to be very pigmented, light and long lasting. I’ll be reviewing the shade Enduring Ruby. It’s always a task for me to find the right shade when I know I’ll be needing a lipstick to last longer. I generally go for the blot and stain approach so that even after food and drinks, atleast I’ll have  a strong stain on my lips. The shade enduring ruby is really gorgeous and would look good on any skintone. It’s a deep wine or berry type shade. It’s more red than violet for sure and looks amazing on deeper skintones. It could also work well as a red. It also have very very...

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Cherry Tart

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Cherry Tart

Are you tried of seeing the Revlon lip butter posts? I sure hope not, there are more to come! Today, I’ll be reviewing Cherry Tart. From my lip butter collection this is probably one of my least favourites. Cherry Tart, as the name suggests, is a cool-toned red. On the tube it’s a really pretty colour. However, it’s one of the least pigmented ones. It’s very sheer and I cannot get it to give an opaque look on the lips even with multiple swatches. Based on your natural lip colour, the colour does change drastically. On mine it looks like a darker and bright pink. The finish is very glossy and high on the shine quotient. It feels very light on the lips and incredibly...

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Tutti Fruti

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Tutti Fruti

I’m back on my Revlon lip butter bandwagon! Today I’ll be reviewing the shade Tutti Frutti. If you want an orange lippy and not splurge too much or not want something very bold, this is THE shade for you. When I’m looking to expand into a brighter colour I’ve never worn before, I always feel safer trying out a sheer lipstick first. This one is perfect for those who might want a “safe” orange lipstick. In the tube it’s a bright candy like red-orange. It translates as a very reddish warm toned orange for me. The payoff and end result would greatly depend on the pigmentation of your lips. On lighter lips, I imagine the colour would be very bold whereas...

Maybelline Colorsensational Moisture Extreme Lipstick in Brick Rose

Maybelline Colorsensational Moisture Extreme Lipstick in Brick Rose

I’m very shy when it comes to red lipsticks. After finding my perfect cooled toned red (Revlon True Red), I was on the hunt for a darker red  . Not a vampy one necessarily, just a darker one. I stumbled upon Brick Rose on another blog with a review and I fell in love with it. It’s perfect for a medium deep skintone like mine. I think it’s especially beautiful on darker skintones but the quality is unmatched except by a select few. Brick Rose is an apt name for the color. It certainly is a brick like red with a warm-toned dark appearance. It doesn’t look too bright and clash with darker skintones. It’s heavily pigmented and one swipe is enough to get good...

Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss Stick in Spotlight Coral

I hope everyone had a good christmas! I was given a lovely cake by my friend and the weather has been very close to 6-7C. If only it snowed in my city… Besides me lamenting over snow, I know this post is soooo late. I’ve had so much on my plate lately. But I have a good 2-3 days break for new year so I’m going to catch up with posts and other blogs as well. I’ve always been very sceptical of brands like Estee Lauder and Lancome. I don’t know why but it’s just a gut feeling I have that I’m getting terribly ripped off when I buy those products. The lipstick I’m reviwing today was bought on eBay from a friend. It was cheaper and the only way I...

Models Own Lipgloss in Violet Cream

Models Own Lipgloss in Violet Cream

So around last year, there was a fabulous ASOS  sale going on and I also has a student’s discount at the time. I bought the Model’s Own Loose Powder eye shadow and spotted this pretty lip gloss for a very neat price. It was impulsive and a good example of why impulsive buys don’t always work out for the best… Model’s Own lip gloss in the shade Violet Cream is a very cool toned pink gloss with blue, pink and silver microshimmer. It’s a light pink with a violet sheen. It’s very sheer, almost like a transparent shimmery lippy with just a hint of a pink tint! So I’m quite disappointed with it. I can layer this over other lipsticks but eventually...
