I have a lot of old favourites this month and a couple of new ones as well. Some of the products are ones I use every week and I somehow always overlooked them for these posts. So let’s get started!
01. Nail Polish : Illamasqua : Phallic
Phallic is such a beautiful deep shimmery blue. You could say it’s the perfect midnight blue. I will gush more about this in a another dedicated post, but I was wearing this a lot this month. I really loved the quality as well.
02. Nail Polish : Illamasqua : Viridian
I bought this and Phallic at the same time. I’m in love with this as well. It looks amazing on nails. I was pretty much...

It’s been a brilliant year for me. I started working, missed my student days dearly but decided to bring the fun at my workplace to compensate for that!
Starting this blog was a decision I was terrified of but I’m happy I took the leap. It’s something I do because it makes me happy and it’s very fulfilling. Throughout the year I made it a point to review the best and favourites more often. Hence you will find reviews here as well!
So here are the best of make up in 2012!
Ahem… and the categories are….
Blush
Nars Douceur – Review
Bronzer
Clarins Mosaique Bronzer – Review
Concealer
MAC Select Moisture Cover Concealer in NW35 –...

Revlon’s Grow Lusicous Mascara was one I’ve been hearing a lot about. Before I go on to review this, I should probably say more about what my preferences with a mascara are. I don’t like mascara that makes the lashes look blatantly fake; clumpiness, too thick to be real, flakiness etc. I would be happier using fake lashes if I wanted it to look editorial. I prefer one whitch coats the lashes well and they look distinct and really black.
With that said, after having tried a few high end ones I was happy to discover that Revlon was somewhat equally good. With Grow Lusicous I love the formula but I hate the brush and the packaging.
the mascara isn’t thick and gooey...

I contemplated a lot about this purchase. It’s way too much for a mascara, ridiculous price. But I had heard so many good things about it. Then I saw a photo of the wand it comes with and I was sold. It’s perfect for my lower lashes and the inner corner upper ones.
Givenchy’s Phenomen’ Eyes comes with a waterproof range and one that’s not. Over here I’m reviewing the waterproof one. I’m almost out of it and I thought I’d review it soon before it dries up.
The colour water black is the only black one available. I get confused when mascaras sell 3-4 different shades of black. Honestly, who can really tell? Anyway, the formula is quite good. It...

May was all about wearing coral-ey colours and light makeup. Wearing too much makeup in this heat is unbearable!!
You don’t necessarily want things that stay on all day. I do wash my face from time to time. But I want products that fade well and don’t leave a mess.
On to this month’s favourites!
01. Perfume : Bvlgari : Pour Femme
This was in last month’s favourites too but I love it’s floral scent. Sadly, this bottle is empty now and I’ll be moving on to another mini perfume.
02. Face Mist : The Body Shop : Vitamin E Energizing Face Spritz
It’s a really good face mist. It makes the skin really cool and gives it a fresh feeling. I...

Bobbi Brown’s lengthening and waterproof mascara No Smudge has a really nice formula. Within a single coat it covers the lashes quite nicely. Rather than volume, I feel it adds more length to them. The product itself doesn’t dry quickly. I’ve had this for about 5 months. I’ve started to use it more frequently in the last month. It does form clumps after 3-4 coats but I generally only apply too. I don’t like the look where there is so much mascara that it looks too obvious and at time dirty. One downside is that it doesn’t feel very light. It kinda weighs down the lash and doesn’t hold the curl too well for long.
I like the brush, its not too big and...

Covergirl LashBlastFusion was one of the first mascaras I had used. I’m not aware if its available in other colours but mine is in black.
I love the shape, at the time when it came out, it was a nice change to see. It looks so pretty and I just love that hot purple!
The mascara is thick and creamy in black. The wand is large with soft rubber bristles. It goes on very smoothly and very few clumps. I really don’t like clumpy mascaras which make it too obvious, I like the finish to be thick and smooth. I generally comb over my mascara with a spare wand to separate lashes. With this product, the application was smooth, I flicked it twice and once with my spare wand and I was good...
