Spring 2014 RTW at Milan Fashion Week : Missoni, Salvatore Ferragamo and Emilio Pucci
There was a new direction for the staple Missoni stripes. This time they were more subtle in the silhouette of the birds and waves, the necklines and in the arrangement of colours. I love the first skirt with the slit and the print.
I’m not particularly fond of python prints (fake or real), or any snake print for that matter. It’s 100% a result of my Ophidiophobia. That said, I do like the asymmetric pleats on one side. I also like the beige leather top.
This is such a fierce and detailed collection, you...
Spring 2014 RTW at Milan Fashion Week : Giorgio Armani, Blumarine and Gianfranco Ferre
This post contains Giorgio Armani. Although it’s edited, this post will be very image heavy. No mercy for your bandwidth.
The same train of thought from the Emporio show seemed to continue here as well. I love the floaty abstract print dresses. The separates in this collection with the shimmer metallic effect looked amazing. Ultramarine blues and hot pink make a great palette! The decorative floral suits and the beaded blazer look incredibly detailed and artistic. In short, the collection left you spoilt with choices.
Spring 2014 RTW at Milan Fashion Week: Moschino, Marni and Dolce & Gabbana
These fashion posts may not be your cup of tea. But if I told you there is a teddy bear outfit, would that peek your interest?
Over the top is an understatement. The dramatics aside, the clothes are very chic and on trend. I love the red floral shorts. Of course everyone needs a croissant necklace and a teddy bear collar with a matching cap.
I love the two-tone prints used in this collection. The separates have a more wow factor with the split colours. However, the couture like embellishments and sequins and appliques are just gorgeous. It looks like...
Spring 2014 RTW at Milan Fashion Week : Bottega Veneta, Roberto Cavalli and Jil Sander
I’ll be going through the last few collections of Milan Fashion Week. It’s going to be epic!
I’m not sure if I really like this. I like the play with pleats but it just look too crafty! Even so, I can appreciate the dismantled processor parts. No? I’ll be calling them that anyway.
Omg this collection is so beautiful! It has that 20′s glam to it with the loose fit and the hem length. I love the muted colours too. Such a different look from the Just Cavalli collection. I love the ombre blush toned gown...
Spring 2014 RTW at Milan Fashion Week : Emporio Armani, Etro and Versace
If I had to describe these three collections in one word each, they would be dreamy, prints!!! and sexy.
94 looks is an enormous collection! I tried my best to edit it down to 35, so this most will be very image heavy! I liked the feminine side that was shown in this collection. The stockings, satin, duochrome materials. It all has a very whimsical feel to it. We get a hint of the pyjama collection again and a lot of separates with that loose...
Spring 2014 RTW at Milan Fashion Week : Costume National, Prada, Ports 1961
Prada had one of the most compelling and artistic collections. in comparison, the others seemed more tame.
This collection had a lot of play on proportions and deconstructing class silhouettes and reimagining them. Those who love edgy minimalism will love this collection. The bright yellow pieces are some of the most stunning ones.
Spring 2014 RTW at Milan Fashion Week : Max Mara, Fendi and Just Cavalli
These three collections together project interesting personalities.
Mac Mara’s collection felt a bit more suited for the colder months and it’s clientele. It’s minimalistic but very comfortable at the same time. I don’t find the silhouettes particularly appealing, but the bright colours and sheer dresses look very...
Spring 2014 RTW at Milan Fashion Week: Dsquared², Gucci and Alberta Ferretti
We start with Milan’s shows which really peeked my interest. They always seem more exciting and colourful than London!
The retro silhouette with a twist is quite something though not too flattering at times! Looks a lot like a Barbie waist. But I do like the coral pieces and the embellished coat. Another interesting part of this collection are the statement jewelry. Varying from rings, earrings to necklaces, there are a lot of quirky...
Ferretti’s collection is sublime. The silhouttes are body hugging and look like second skin and very light. I love the chiffon and sheer material with all the embroidery. The dresses have clean cuts and the floral handiwork around it. It’s a nice design contrast.
The gowns are so beautiful and flowy! I love the collection!

I’m so sad to see Raf Simmons leave Jil Sander. This was such an elegant and just pretty collection. I know I say a lot that I hate ill-proportioned and oversized clothes. But this was the text book of how oversized clothing can look graceful and feminine.
That big red coat is going to be sold out! The pink and beige satin dress has a 20′s vibe to it. The collection looked timeless. It represents the soft and pretty side of winter. The nude/pastel dresses look very elegant.
The coats and dresses paired together bring a well put and complete look. Then show them turns brighter and bolder with strong colours, no doubt a fall favourite. The dresses also became more edgy with split...
Gucci’s collection this fall is dark but elegent. Velvets, sheer, bright florals masked by the dark dresses, flowy silhouttes; it all seems almost romantic. But some pieces also have an edge to it with military and oversize coats.
The later half of the collection is just stunning. The bright velvert dresses and the ethereal black ones. They are so beautifully adorned with the floral shapes. The cuts are slighly provocative, it is Gucci afterall but it still maintains elegance and beauty. The billowy sleeves and capes add a touch of whimsy.
The large florals seems a real trend now, I’m seeing it everywhere.

Blumarine made me so happy! I loved this collection so much! It had so many different styles and yet you could picture them being part of the same era or sect. A very futuristic style.
The coats were Mongolian lamb and I love the bright neon colours paired with white. Next came a series of comfy looking activewear again continuing the metallic silver-gold trend. I love the holographic taupe coat, its so unique. Yet it looks clean cut and very flattering. The blue holographic pieces looked so Nicki Minaj… I don’t know where I’d wear them, but I want them! And I’m eyeing those earrings as well. The metallic python print leggings and poodle jackets, some how they all...
