If you asked me what my first love (in makeup) was, it would definitely be nail polishes! Love them! Love changing it up every week as well! Here are my top picks for fall. I’ve categorized them by trends, so you have your vampy polishes, glitters ones and jewel tones.
Hope you find something you like!
01. Chanel Taboo – Galaxy in a bottle. That says it all! I think what really sets it apart from all the other similar polishes is that bright blue microshimmer. I love this!
02. Zoya Valerie - No fall list is complete without this favourite! My first love from Zoya, you will always find this on the top of my lists! It’s a great purple and yellow shimmer duochrome.
I’ve been a bit busy for the last few days, but I’m getting back in my groove. So much to look forward to this weekend!
Today I’m reviewing a polish that I picked up (rather impulsively) at the checkout line at H&M! I’d never really considered any of their nail polishes before, but I’m really liking this one.
Newlyweds suggests a mushy romantic soft colour. This is a sheer off white polish with pale gold shimmer. It looks so delicate and very dense shimmery on the nails, I really love the colour. It’s quite mild and makes it appropriate for formal occasions as well. The shimmer isn’t very in your face but really sparkles when it you shine...
Nail polish with shimmer is my weakness. OPI Live and Let Die from the Skyfall collection is an intense gorgeous colour and if you like wearing darker colours for fall, this one is perfect!
Live and Let Die is dark forest green creme base with yellow and gold microshimmer. It gives it a lot of depth and it really sparkles in sunlight. The base is a very blackened green so can look almost black at times but in the day you can see that bit of teal in it as well.
Formula wise it’s your good old OPI formula which lasts for 6 days with very little chipping. The photos below are taken on the 5th day of wearing them; very slight tip wear.
The consistency is a medium cream which spreads...
It’s been a while since I did a wishlist post. I wasn’t really holding out for stuff the last few months, a lot of my purchases were a combination of necessity and last minute splurge. My self control fails me sometimes. But since my birthday is in January, there a few things I’m eyeing…
Here’s the wishlist for November! Let me know what you’re coveting this month!
01. Guerlain : Blush : Madame Rougit 4 – Colors (Limited Edition)
Eep, so pretty! Clearly, nice packaging is my weakness. This shall remain strictly within the confines of a wishlist!
02. Essie : Nail Polish : For the Twill of it
I love duochromes, this one is grey...
I lot have a lot of different favourites this month, I’m mostly using stuff I’ve already shown before. But these are some everyday or occasion pieces I’ve enjoyed using the past month. Hope you all had a great Diwali! ^_^
01. Moisturiser : Clarins : HydraQuench Cream
I love how rich and soft this makes my skin. It’s perfect for winters and will last me all the way. It also smells lovely.
02. Blush : Nars : Deep Throat
The less shiny and peachy Orgasm. It gives a subtle pink flush with shimmer. Very soft on the skin.
03. Soap : Khadi : Aloe Vera and Jasmine
I’ve never really mentioned soaps on this blog before but I had an...
I was so excited for the Maybelline Colorshow launch, I’ve been waiting for them to get launched here for such a long time! Gel polishes generally fare quite well and I was very curious about these. I’m reviewing the tw0 colours together because quality wise I see no difference at all.
Midnight Taupe is a brown taupe colour. It’s similar to Inglot 974 but a bit darker. Fiesty Fuschia on the other hand is a bright warm pink. A very Barbie pink shade. I actually don’t have a pink like this, I always go for more blue toned ones. But the shade range is incredible. I’m glad they didn’t come out with just reds and pinks.
These are translucent gel polishes and...
Happy Diwali folks! I hope you all have fun on this long weekend (let’s be real, that’s the best part)! There is so much yummy food to eat, it’s heaven! ^_^
I’m reviewing Essie Watermelon nail polish today. I’ll be honest, my photos do not do justice to this polish. The colour is so beautiful, you really have to see it in person.
Essie Watermelon is bright fuchsia red colour. It’s like that elusive lipstick which you can never tell if it’s more red or pink. A similar dilemma here. I personally think it’s more pink, but feels like a more sophisticated pink due to the red in it. I feel this a colour you can wear all year round.
The quality of...
This nail polish might burn your eyes! I never thought I’d buy a colour like this and I confess that I’m only brave enough to wear this on my toes. But it looks so damn good!!
Rimmel polishes comes in different ranges. This is the 60 seconds one. It’s only Rs.220 and the colours and quality is top notch!
Pulsating is a uber bright red/pinky polish with a blue undertone. It has a bright fuchsia sheen and very fine pink microshimmer. That’s what gives it such a bright in your face look. It’s one of those purple fuchsia shades. Basically, it’s Mac Snow Orchid in a nail polish.
The finish is a bit of pearl but very high in shine. You don’t really need a...
Time to spill your holy grails, products you can’t live without or just something new you tried this month! I was a bit adventurous with my eye makeup this month with bright purples.
My September 2013 Favourites -
Clockwise from Left : Inglot 439 Pearl, Inglot 415 Pearl, Mac Woodwinked, Mac Expensive Pink
01. Moisturizer : First Aid Beauty : Ultra Repair Cream
I love the scent of this cream and it’s very soft and effective. If you like Soap & Glory scents, you’ll like this too.
02. Body Mist : Nyassa : Passion Burst Body Mist
I mentioned this in my last favourites as well. I love using this in the second half of the day to feel...
Today I’ll be reviewing this lovely nude like colour from Essie called Buy Me A Cameo. If you like wearing nude nails then you might want to try this. I think it’s brilliant to wear to office when it’s really formal and you don’t want anything too bright.
The colour is a light peach one with a pearl finish. It can at times look a tad bit rose gold which is what drew me to it first, but it’s definitely more peachy. It’s a very creamy polish which requires 2 coats to turn opaque. The consistency of this is really good, it’s not too thin or thick.
It has a pearly metallic finish. It’s not very glossy so you might want to use a topcoat over it....
Valerie is one of the prettiest Zoya polishes I own and it’s always in my top 5 nail polishes list. It’s the formula that made me fall in love with Zoya and it’s shimmer polishes.
It’s a really deep violet polish with a yellow duochrome. It’s more like a red violet polish which gives it a nice deep and vampy look. But the shimmer just makes it so lovely! You can see a range of colours there with red, fuchsia, bronze and gold. I love wearing this any time of the year although it’s more suited for fall.
It applies really well. This is definitely a one coater polish although it looks better with 2. It applies evenly and I just love it. This is really one of...
It’s that time of the month when I tempt you (and mostly myself) to break the bank and spoil ourselves! Crap, I also realised I forgot to change the ‘July Wishlist’ to ‘August Wishlist’. I hope you’ll excuse that! This is what happens when I try to blog on a Sunday morning without my tea.
1. Josie Maran : Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee : Poppy Paradise
I read loads about these but my inner child just wants to rub jelly on my cheeks and feel pretty. That’s pretty much why I want this. Feel free to mock me.
2. Cirare : Mid Summer Night : Grande Clutch
I came across this when I saw someones tweet and my gosh,...
The past month I’ve been sticking to very muted and everyday colours. I discovered a brilliant lip combo that I cannot stop using and some old favourites which need another mention.
July favourites :
01. Moisturizer : Forest Essentials : Night Treatment Cream : Sandalwood and Saffron
This smells heavenly! This isn’t the thickest cream I’ve used but it keeps me hydrated all night. I also use it in the morning sometimes id I’ve been lazy with my night routine and my skin is too dry.
02. Nail Polish : Sally Hansen : Pacific Blue
I picked up two Sally Hansen polishes a month a go (other one being...
It’s been a while since I’ve posted a wishlist! A great falicy of the human mind is want, well… wanting even more in my case! Here’s the July wishlist!
1. Illamasqua : Hydra Veil : Rehydrating Gel
I’ve heard to much about this! It works well as a moisturizer and a primer. I really want to try it, it’s something different!
2. Jouer : Mineral Blush : Blossom
I’ve read/seen really great reviews about this product. The colour Blossom and Peach Bouquet are ones I have my eye on.
3. Ciate : Nail Polish : Jewel
Other than the cream polishes from Ciate, Jewel is one of the more ‘razzle dazzle’ ones I like!
This past month I’ve tried a lot of new products and some of them are mentioned here while others are trusted favourites that I use everyday. Hope you are all having a good month! This is a bit late but well overdue since I didn’t post May favourites.
My favourites for June :
01. Shampoo : Brocato : Hydrating Shampoo
I was using this when I was travelling and it works really well. It’s not too strong and I like the smell as well.
02. Conditioner : Brocato : Hydrating Conditioner
This is in an emulsion paste kinda form and also works just as well.
03. Eye Cream : Estee Lauder : Advanced Repair Night Cream
This isn’t something I use...
