Revlon nail polishes never really caught my eye until they started coming up with dupes for Deborah Lipmann polishes! More on that later but for now, I’m reviewing the shade Naughty.
Naughty is a dark purple and charcoal grey duochrome polish. It also has very fine purple microshimmer which can be detected under direct light. It does look slightly pearlescent as well. However, the duochrome is subtle and not very stark like some other shades. Even so, you get a nice effect of purple in the middle and gray on the sides.
The polish is very pigmented and creamy. You need one or two coats for an opaque look. They also apply evenly and there’s not streakiness or bubbling. I’m...
The word sprinkles just makes me feel happy. Over cakes, over cupcakes, over ice cream. Heck, I’d just sell icing and sprinkles if I ever opened a shop! That’s pretty much what this nail polish feels like. Your nails looks like they’re covered in sprinkles and you just want to eat them!
This isn’t the most mature nail polish, I’ll admit that. But it’s cute nonetheless. Nails Inc Special Effects Sprinkles is a range of glittery polishes. Although “sprinkles” might lead you to believe that it’s chunky or 3d, it’s not, just round shaped glitter unlike caviar nails which are tiny tiny sprinkle like balls.
The shade Sweets Way is a mix...
I did a bit a of a Kleancolor and Nyx haul from eBay where I bought a set of Kleancolor mini nail polishes. It was so cheap, like $10 for 6 bottles, why not?!
Firstly, I’ve tried different types of Kleancolor nail polishes and honestly, I don’t like the quality. The smell is way too strong for me, very chemical and toxic like. I honestly never wear this on my fingers, only toes because it just feels uncomfortable on my nails.
Also, the consistency most of the times is very heavy and gloopy!
That said, this is one colour that performs well and is really pretty! Kleancolor Vegas Night is a mix of bright blue and purple glitter in a blue jelly base. The blue glitter is more round...
Muted pinks and purples are another favourite of mine. I feel like this pink is great to wear for office as well. It’s the Chambor nail polish in the shade Cashmere.
The name Cashmere has a nice ring to it and the colour feels very luxe as well. It’s creme polish in a muted dusty pink colour. In the spectrum of rosy pinks this one is warm and medium toned, not too light nor too dark. I’m in love with this colour! Looks very feminine and sophisticated. I feel like it would suit all skintones.
I’m not too happy about the quality though. It applies well enough but you really have to measure how much product you are taking onto the brush. The consistency is thicker for a...
Valerie is one of the prettiest Zoya polishes I own and it’s always in my top 5 nail polishes list. It’s the formula that made me fall in love with Zoya and it’s shimmer polishes.
It’s a really deep violet polish with a yellow duochrome. It’s more like a red violet polish which gives it a nice deep and vampy look. But the shimmer just makes it so lovely! You can see a range of colours there with red, fuchsia, bronze and gold. I love wearing this any time of the year although it’s more suited for fall.
It applies really well. This is definitely a one coater polish although it looks better with 2. It applies evenly and I just love it. This is really one of...
When OPI first came in India, it was just the brights and ‘permanent’ ones that were available. For months on end I never saw the collections they launched. When the muppets collection released I knew I had to have this shade (amongst others). I spotted it on Flipkart by chance and decided to grab it! It’s good I did because it was gone after 2 days.
Warm & Fozzie ( named after Fozzie Bear ofcourse) is a gorgeous bronze polish. It has a deep bronze base with yellow, red and coppery bronze shimmers all packed densely together. I think some of the shimmers are duochrome because bronze appears more like gold at times. And the red is much more deeper at times. I shall let...
Hello people! Around 2-3 years back when the mint nail polish (or mint anything) craze started, Re-Fresh Mint was the first China Glaze I purchased.
Re-fresh Mint is a new warm minty colour. The polish is creme and so the formula is wonderful and the very best when it comes to China Glaze. I know a lot of other mint polishes are more blue toned but I wanted a good pastel one. This was my answer. It’s not very office appropriate, so I love wearing this on my feet in the summers.
This applies really well. There are no bubbles, gathering on sides or unevenness. It’s definitely a one coater, very opaque. You may at times need two depending on the surface area. The polish has a thick...
Hello people, I’m back with a nail polish review. It’s from my favourite brand Zoya. Is everyone enjoying the monsoons. Although what’s happening in Uttarkhand is terrible and I hope your friends and family are safe. I had visited Mussorie a few months back and it was really lovely.
I had seen Zoya Amminah in a lot of swatches but somehow always deferred buying it. It has this iridescent sheen that looks so lovely and subtle. When I finally got it, it was neutral colour I could wear often but I’m not too happy with the quality.
Amminah is a a sheer milky white polish with a violet iridescent sheen. It looks so subtle and lovely. It’s a very feminine polish that...
Anytime I hit Wednesday on the calender, I start praying for the days to go faster so that the weekend will come sooner! Well, I’ve been doing that and testing out some old polishes from my stash for reviews! My dust bin is a mess of cotton balls!
Nails Inc Belgrave Place is a really pretty blurple which was a launchpad for my mania with blue and purple nail polishes. It’s incredibly hard to describe the exact tone. It’s more violet than blue for sure and in light it will seem strongly like one but there are times when it’s that indigo shade as well.
The consistency of this is very thin but it is gel like. I think the formula is very similar to Colorbar Apple...
I’m so glad it’s the weekend!! I’m working on Saturdays as well and I miss that extra holiday. :/
But there’s always blogging and my readers to look forward to on the weekends!
Today I’m reviewing a really pretty polish for summers, China Glaze High Hopes. It’s from their Up and Away collection. I had bought this along with Lemon Fizz. I really need to wear this more often now!
I really love the colour. This is what I call a true coral. But for the most part, it’s a coral that veers more towards pink rather than orange. I think it’s a shade that will look good against all skintones as well. It’s bright and eye catching, but not...
Today, I’ll be sharing with you one of my treasure trove purchases! You see, for the vast majority of my life I’ve been a person who only wore silver or black nail polish. No, I wasn’t a goth but I did like my black polish and clung to it with my dear life!
Now I was very intrigued by Zoya as I had just heard a lot about the brand and was on a major hauling spree (bad!). I saw this particular one and it just called out to me! It’s such a pretty bright blue! Robyn also happens to be my very first blue nail polish!
I had never tried Zoya before and I was very nervous about how it would turn out. The formulation is excellent! No streaking, it spreads evenly. It’s...
When it comes to Colorbar nail polishes, you sometimes find a few duds but the ones with a lot of shimmer are certainly not one of them!
Crystal Calm is really hard to describe mainly because it doesn’t fall under gold or silver. It’s definitely somewhere in between. I’d say it’s a pale gold with dense silver microshimmer. It looks really gorgeous against any skintone and I’m really loving it. This colour is also great for festive wear or night outs when you want more bling.
It has a foil like effect and very high shine to it because the shimmer is so fine and dense. I love the finish and it reflects so much light that there’s a sparkle to it.
Essie makes some of the best polishes especially when it comes to creamy finishes. I was on the hunt for a perfect lilac nail polish and it came to a spot when I spotted this one!
Essie Lilacism is that perfect lilac which, as the name suggests, isn’t too pink nor too blue.
The formula is great, it glides on easily. It does not apply streakily or form bubbles in any way. The consistency is very creamy but not too thick or runny.
I did find that this isn’t last on me as long as the other Essie polishes I’ve tried. It stayed on well for about 4 days and the tipwear was more frequent that usual. It isn’t bad, but it isn’t as good as I’ve come to expect...
I rarely go for very high end nail polishes. I’m quite happy in my China Glaze, OPI, Zoya circle. But when I saw the Nars Orgasm nail polish shade, I knew I hadn’t seen this shade anywhere and I desperately wanted it!
The colour as I said, has incredible depth and is very pretty indeed. It’s a soft peachy pink with gold microshimmer and sheen. The shimmer isn’t dense which gives it the delicate gold sheen sort of look. The polish itself its sheer so you can add one coat for just a subtle pink and gold look. If you add more, you get an opaque finish with a lovely peachy coral shade.
I love staring at this for the shimmer. If you don’t already know, I cannot...
Purple and blue are one of my favourite colours and I can never stop myself from these shades even if I have too many.
I was gifted this Chambor nail polish in Amethyst Metal and it’s a gorgeous one! The colour is a metallic purple veering more towards a pinky violet. It has very dense silver microshimmer that gives it the metallic look. It’s a universally flattering shade and looks great for day or night. Plus, I like the name Amethyst Metal. I like it when brands name the products something that gives a good idea of what the shade might be.
The shade looks a lot brighter in the sun than it does indoors. It appears a darker purple when you are indoors but when there’s...
