Spring 2015 RTW : Paris Fashion Week : Part Three

Spring 2015 RTW : Paris Fashion Week : Part Three

So this is the final post covering Spring 2015; it's part three (the finale) of Paris Fashion Week and this post is just filled with all the big name fashion houses. I suppose overall, the collections that really stuck with me were The Row, Luisa Beccaria, Etro, Naeem Khan and Erdem. Starting off with Chanel, if you haven't seen it in news already, it was a lovely feminist gesture. But with reference to the actual clothes, I liked that they were simpler silhouettes, relying on colours for the edge. The watercolour print is…Read more
Spring 2015 RTW : Paris Fashion Week : Part Two

Spring 2015 RTW : Paris Fashion Week : Part Two

Hey guys! I'm kinda sad that my perfect long weekend is coming to an end. Oh well, here's some fashion for distraction. It's part two of Paris Fashion Week SS 15! I really like the crisp white separates at the Dior show. I don't know if long coats are making a comeback but the burgundy and hot pink one looks amazing. I also liked the textured jackets at the Issey Miyake show. I haven't featured Anrealage in this blog before but I really loved the shadow as a print idea, it's quite unique.…Read more
Spring 2015 RTW : Paris Fashion Week : Part One

Spring 2015 RTW : Paris Fashion Week : Part One

The finale of the big four is Paris Fashion Week. Here are some of the SS 15 collections! Balenciaga was a much better version of Alexander Wang, it's the one I like. It mixes sportiness with femininity and wearability. I loved the draped fabric alongside the mesh and perforated ones. The silhouettes were modern and I liked the muted pastels as well. The jackets and coats in Barbara Bui's collection looks like something you'd find in Rajasthan but these have a lot more geometry to them. I loved the bright red workwear in…Read more

Fall 2014 Couture Collections

Hey guys! I hope you might have noticed, Xuvious.com has a new layout! I got kind of bored with the old one and I really wanted to improve the navigation. So the menu is more streamlined and there are also more ways of browsing the site (as can be seen in the sidebar). I also made it responsive so it'll be better to view on a tablet or mobile. Let me know if you like the changes or if you find any bugs/broken links! That aside, here are the Fall 2014 Couture collections!…Read more
Fall 2014 RTW : Balenciaga, Manish Arora and Ann Demeulemeester

Fall 2014 RTW : Balenciaga, Manish Arora and Ann Demeulemeester

Love these collections from Balenciaga and Ann Demeulemeester. Manish Arora's will have in a tizzy! All from Paris Fashion Week.     Balenciaga It feels like it's by Alexander Wang and the colour (which rejuvenated his own show) makes this very appealing. I like the zippers going down the sleeves and the the crosses. The structure feels very macho but the colours give it a young feel. Manish Arora You've just stepped into a fun candy shop. You get a sugar rush just looking at it! Aside from the makeup and accessories, what…Read more
Fall 2014 RTW : Dries Van Noten, Gareth Pugh and Vionnet

Fall 2014 RTW : Dries Van Noten, Gareth Pugh and Vionnet

There are some very thoughtful collections like Gareth Pugh and Vionnet. The more relatable but still fashionable Dries Van Noten; all fall collections from Paris Fashion Week.     Dries Van Noten It's urban chic with the retro silhouettes in geometric lines and bold colours. The outerwear and coats are to die for. The floral separates are my favourites here.   Gareth Pugh The shock and awe factor aside, you can always rely on Gareth Pugh to take you to another world. Imagine Frozen set in a future, the dystopian attire and the…Read more
Fall 2014 RTW : Cédric Charlier, Guy Laroche and Bouchra Jarrar

Fall 2014 RTW : Cédric Charlier, Guy Laroche and Bouchra Jarrar

Paris Fashion Week fall collections get a start here with Cédric Charlier, Guy Laroche and Bouchra Jarrar!   Cédric Charlier Reptiles recreated using textiles (bad rhyming) and pleating, that's the inspiration. It's done quite well too, it's not out there snakeskin but subtle. I think the overall vibe of a snake is captured very well. But I'm not a fan of the cut-out fur. Guy Laroche Guy Laroche was never on my radar until that Hilary Swank navy gown popped up. I hope for that kind of brilliance every year, it's not something we…Read more
Spring 2014 Couture : Valentino, Viktor & Rolf and Zuhair Murad

Spring 2014 Couture : Valentino, Viktor & Rolf and Zuhair Murad

Spring 2014 Couture shows have their last stop here! Blown away by Zuhair Murad's collection. Viktor & Rolf had a ballet inspiration while Valentino was musical and operatic.   Valentino The inspiration is very loud and vivid with music and wildlife. I love the burgundy dress with the snake motif running across. The slate grey plane gown was also very elegant, as were the gowns with floral applique and lace.   Viktor & Rolf First off, not a fan of the hair, it definitely adds to the atmosphere and message but gives me…Read more

I'm always blown away my Elie Saab and Armani Prive collections, they always have that glamour quotient when I enjoy looking at.   Armani Prive The indigo and midnight blues are here to stay. The head scarf lives the collection a very easy and resort feel. The palazzo pants with slits and the…Read more

Spring 2014 Couture : Ulyana Sergeenko, Bouchra Jarrar and Vionnet

Hey guys! Hope you are all having an amazing weekend! Here's more from the Spring 2014 Couture shows with collections from Ulyana Sergeenko, Bouchra Jarrar and Vionnet.   Ulyana Sergeenko The collection feels very cinematic and powerful. It's the silhouettes with the right balance of structure and draping. It's also inspired by Central Asia and carries motifs and symbols from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and the region. I love the suits and the powder blue dress. Sergeenko's collections are always a nod to her Russian heritage, but it's nice to see her venture out for…Read more
