China Glaze Tempest Nail Polish

China Glaze Tempest Nail Polish

Hi guys! Hope you all had a great weekend! I had a bit of a closet purge, sorting out clothes for donation. Attacking the shoe closet next! You might already know, I have a thing for blurple nail polishes. I think I've found one with the perfect balance. Is it purple? Is it blue? I can't make up my mind and I love it! China Glaze Tempest is a pearlescent nail polish with a purple base and fine blue shimmer. The shimmer is a bit duochrome and shifts the blue tone from dark…Read more
Zoya Perrie Nail Polish

Zoya Perrie Nail Polish

This review is long overdue. I've mentioned this polish in ton's of favourites and it's a perfect "radiant orchid" shade. 2014 is almost over so not that it matters, but it really is the perfect Pantone shade. Zoya Perrie is a creme polish in a lavender-pink inbetween colour. It's hard to pick a side, that makes it really pretty. It's a little bit darker in my comparison swatches but hopefully you get a good idea of the colour. Essie Lilacism is a very light lilac, Perrie is a pinker version of Butter London Molly…Read more
Butter London Nail Polish in Toff

Butter London Nail Polish in Toff

A while back I got my hands on a bunch of Butter London nail polishes. They look stunning and so are the formulas. Today I'm reviewing Butter London Toff which is a creme deep plumy brown. There is some dustiness to the shade which gives it a really sophisticated look. I really love the shade; it's also a darker office appropriate neutral. The quality is amazing as well. The creme polish is opaque in one coat, though you might prefer 2 coats depending on how big your nail bed is. The consistency is…Read more
Essie DJ Play That Song Nail Polish

Essie DJ Play That Song Nail Polish

It's a shade perfect for summer with a cheesy name. Oh, it's also a radiant orchid shade! What else do you need? Essie DJ Play That Song came out in the 2013 Neon collection. It's a jelly polish (similar to Maybelline Colorshow). You can use this by itself or over a white nail polish but you get different colours. Over the nail by itself, you get the colour as shown in the swatches below, it looks more pink/fuchsia. Over white you get a colour closer to that in the bottle. It's also described…Read more
Top 10 Nail Polishes for Spring

Top 10 Nail Polishes for Spring

To be very honest, I don't always follow the seasonal trends when it comes to nail polish. My mood and what catches my eye pretty much dictates what I'm wearing at the moment. But for those who do, here are my top 10 picks for spring and summer! I like blues, greens and this year, the radiant orchid shade as well. Let's get started!       01. H&M Newlyweds - This is a lovely sheer polish which has a milky white base and gold shimmer densely scattered. It looks very understated and…Read more
Max Factor Mini Effect Nail Polish in Fantasy Fire

Max Factor Mini Effect Nail Polish in Fantasy Fire

Today I'm bringing you yet another nail polish that is utterly gorgeous. But not the best buy for the price though. I saw it for the first time on this blog and I just had to have it! It's part of the Mini Nail Polish line which are these tiny cute polish bottles. I lot of them are gorgeous complex shades including shimmers and duochromes. Anyway, I'll get down to business. Fantasy Fire is a layering sheer polish with a MAJOR duochrome shift. It's a blue-indigo base with shimmer that shifts from orange to green. It's…Read more
Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour in Taboo

Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour in Taboo

I've said this before, it's a galaxy in a bottle. I first came across this nail polish on Karen's blog and I was blown away. I knew I had to have it. I scoured the net for it and finally managed to pick it up when I was abroad. I was a bit concerned because it costs 27 freaking dollars and I don't rate other Chanel nail polishes that highly. The cream formulas in general just seem very streaky. But luckily, this one turned out to be quite good. I'm not sure what…Read more
Just Swatches : Zoya Nail Polishes

Just Swatches : Zoya Nail Polishes

Hello! I'm back with another Just Swatches post! This time it's my beloved Zoya nail polishes! I think Valerie and Robyn were among the first ones I bought, fell in love with the formula and you can see what happened then! If I had to pick favourites from this lot it would be Valerie, Alegra, Trixie and now even Perrie. This years Pantone Colour of the year is Radiant Orchid and I think Perrie is an exact match. It's smack in the middle of that purple pink range, gorgeous colour! Kristin - It's…Read more
Revlon Naughty Nail Polish

Revlon Naughty Nail Polish

Revlon nail polishes never really caught my eye until they started coming up with dupes for Deborah Lipmann polishes! More on that later but for now, I'm reviewing the shade Naughty. Naughty is a dark purple and charcoal grey duochrome polish. It also has very fine purple microshimmer which can be detected under direct light. It does look slightly pearlescent as well. However, the duochrome is subtle and not very stark like some other shades. Even so, you get a nice effect of purple in the middle and gray on the sides. The…Read more
OPI Ink Nail Polish

OPI Ink Nail Polish

When I was doing my Top 10 Fall nail polishes post I realised I actually haven't reviewed most of them! It's mostly because with nail polish my "schedule" is very haphazard! Anyway, today I'm reviewing OPI Ink, a  blurple you must have! In the bottle I think this definitely leans more towards blue but when you apply it, the base shade is a dark purple and you have blue, purple and even a bit of fuchsia microshimmer all over. It's very complex and pretty, the kind where you will like staring at your…Read more
