This is a post about how excitement induced by the sight of glitter, can overcome logic and reason. You’ll have to see the photos to know what I mean.
I first came across the Superglass collection on Temptalia’s site. And it was like love at first sight. I remembered seeing these on StrawberryNet and so I lurched for them! It was on discount, I took it as a sign from the universe and bought it promptly in the shades Fab Frenzy and Totally Bang!
Now that the story’s ended, let me rave about this lip gloss a little more.
This is not the best lip gloss in terms of consistency and there are some parts of the finish that I do not like. But, I haven’t come across...
Hey guys! I had picked up this lip gloss a few months ago. Revlon’s Colorburst Lip Gloss range is the best even it comes to quality and value for money. I also have the shades Papaya and Rose Gold. Sunset Peach also lives up to the hype!
Sunset Peach in the tube is a light peach with gold and silver shimmer. It’s definitely a sheer lip gloss, not as pigmented as others in the range. It doesn’t transfer too much colour on the lips. For very pigmented lips, unless you just want that light glossy effect, this won’t really impart much colour. Hence this is best used layered over a lipstick if you want to add more shimmer or warm up the colour.
I love using this over nude...
I have a lot of old favourites this month and a couple of new ones as well. Some of the products are ones I use every week and I somehow always overlooked them for these posts. So let’s get started!
01. Nail Polish : Illamasqua : Phallic
Phallic is such a beautiful deep shimmery blue. You could say it’s the perfect midnight blue. I will gush more about this in a another dedicated post, but I was wearing this a lot this month. I really loved the quality as well.
02. Nail Polish : Illamasqua : Viridian
I bought this and Phallic at the same time. I’m in love with this as well. It looks amazing on nails. I was pretty much...
Hello munchkins! So I haven’t done a tutorial in a really long time and with all the free time I have I’ll doing a couple in the upcoming weeks.
I have really really deepset eyes and so I generally like to wear eye shadows that make my eye area brighter! For the past few months, this has been my go-to look for any occasion. It’s really easy to do and goes with pretty much everything as well. Hope you like it!
What You'll Need
1. Eye primer like Mac Prep+Prime in Medium
2. Rose Gold eye shadow like Urban Decay Toasted
3. Matte medium or neutral brown eye shadow like Urban Decay Buck
4. Darker brown eye shadow like Urban Decay Hustle
March is been a hot month indeed! And hence the use of more suncare and cooling products. Some of these I now use daily while others used more frequently on special occasions.
Hope you like the favourites! Most of these are available in India if you where to shop. If you need details, please leave a comment!
So let’s begin!
01. Sun Screen : Biotherm : Lait Solaire UVA and UVB Protection Melting Milk SPF 30
I’ve been using this in particularly if I know I’ll be out in the sun for a longer time. It has a soothing citrus scent and works really well.
02. Eye Shadow : Urban Decay : Buck
My everyday eyeshadow! I have a lot of...
This month I actually have a few favourites from December too because I’ve been using these products non stop!
01. Face Cream : Clinique : Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief
I’ve been using this as my daily face moisturizer, I love it. I’ve never used a cream-gel formation before.
02. Perfume : BVLGARI : Pour Femme
This is my everyday perfume now. I love the scent!
03. Powder : Givenchy : Prisme Again Visage Compact Powder Quartet : Happy Sun
When I’m too lazy for foundation, this is my go to product. It gives a nice even look. I carry this with me everywhere!
Hello folks! This will be the last of my Revlon lip butters. This shade is one of the most popular ones, it’s very wearable and suits a lot of skintones as well.
Peach Parfait is a peachy coral colour with dense gold shimmer. The colour is light but it adds a nice warm tint to your lips. People who generally dislike shimmer in lipsticks should stay clear from this as it’s quite a lot and can be very distracting. The shimmer isn’t very subtle and feels rather rough against your lips. Most of the lip butters have a weightless feel to it, but the shimmer in this one counteracts that.
It applies evenly and glides on like butter. The lipstick is quite sheer so you need to swipe...
It’s time to review another Revlon lip butter! You can view all the other lip butter posts I’ve made so far here. Cotton Candy is actually one of the most unique shades of lipstick I own. It’s a very lip gloss colour that I own as a lipstick.
Cotton Candy really does look like what the name suggests. It’s a very blue-toned pink with a hint of lilac in it. But the most gorgeous part about the lipstick is it’s golden sheen. it have lovely gold microshimmer that really sets this apart. Normally, a lipstick of this colour would make me look dead. the pink itself isn’t that flattering on dusky skintones. But the gold sheen adds to warm to it. The lipstick...
Are you tried of seeing the Revlon lip butter posts? I sure hope not, there are more to come! Today, I’ll be reviewing Cherry Tart. From my lip butter collection this is probably one of my least favourites.
Cherry Tart, as the name suggests, is a cool-toned red. On the tube it’s a really pretty colour. However, it’s one of the least pigmented ones. It’s very sheer and I cannot get it to give an opaque look on the lips even with multiple swatches. Based on your natural lip colour, the colour does change drastically. On mine it looks like a darker and bright pink.
The finish is very glossy and high on the shine quotient. It feels very light on the lips and incredibly...
I’m back on my Revlon lip butter bandwagon! Today I’ll be reviewing the shade Tutti Frutti. If you want an orange lippy and not splurge too much or not want something very bold, this is THE shade for you. When I’m looking to expand into a brighter colour I’ve never worn before, I always feel safer trying out a sheer lipstick first. This one is perfect for those who might want a “safe” orange lipstick.
In the tube it’s a bright candy like red-orange. It translates as a very reddish warm toned orange for me. The payoff and end result would greatly depend on the pigmentation of your lips. On lighter lips, I imagine the colour would be very bold whereas...
So my birthday was on the 4th this month!! It was just a busy and hectic birthday and it’s already been a smashing month. But here’s some of the stuff I bought/got gifted for my birthday.
L-R | Mac Blush : Well Dressed | Revlon Eyeshadow Palette : Blissful Girl | Mac Blush : Peaches | Mac Superglass : Totally Bang! | Carmex Lip Blam : Cherry | Mac Superglass : Fab Frenzy
After my last haul, I haven’t been buying much. So it was nice to splurge a bit for my birthday! I’m 24 now… *sigh*. Not the happiest of feelings. I don’t feel 24 at all! I wonder if all birthdays hence forth will be like...
December was a month for Mac products! I had an early birthday haul and found a few awesome new products!
01. Perfume : Narciso Rodriguez : For her (edt)
This was on my wishlist and I found a lucky discount and decided to buy it! I love the scent and lingers on all day.
02. Lipstick : Maybelline : Colorsensation Moisture Extreme : Brick Rose
This is one of the best reds to wear for the fall and winter. Very appropriate for red shy girls like me.
03. Lipstick : Mac : Fast Play
This is my favourite everyday lipstick. It’s darker than your usual MLBB shade but it suits me really well.
04. Blush : Mac ...
It’s been a brilliant year for me. I started working, missed my student days dearly but decided to bring the fun at my workplace to compensate for that!
Starting this blog was a decision I was terrified of but I’m happy I took the leap. It’s something I do because it makes me happy and it’s very fulfilling. Throughout the year I made it a point to review the best and favourites more often. Hence you will find reviews here as well!
So here are the best of make up in 2012!
Ahem… and the categories are….
Nars Douceur – Review
Clarins Mosaique Bronzer – Review
MAC Select Moisture Cover Concealer in NW35 –...
Lately I’ve been loving Lip Butters so much I decided that I needed more colours. This is a shade I don’t use often but for a night out it’s so perfect!
Raspberry Pie is one of the more pigmented lip butters out there. It’s a gorgeous berry pink which leans on the fuschia side when seen under light. It’s a darker and warmer pink and would hence, suit darker skintones as well. I just love the colour! I don’t have any lipstick quite like it.
It goes on so smoothly and the finish is seamless, it never settles into any lines. It looks so perfect. It stays on for about 5-6 hours. It stays on longer but with a faded appearance. It is prone to bleeding though....
There is so much hype over the Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter range. The few I’ve tried certainly live upto it! These launch in India last month with only 9 shades Some of the shades I wanted were very Creme Brulee and Macaroon but they aren’t launched in India. Oh well, today I’m reviewing Pink Truffle which is a favourite ever since I got it. I wear it everyday! It’ s a perfect MLLB shade.
Pink Truffle is a brownish pink which goes wonderfully with the natural colour of your lips. But more pigmented shades it will tend to look more like a dusty pink. With lighter lips I suppose it will be more of a darker nude pink. It’s a lovely everyday shade. Under flash...
