To be very honest, I don’t always follow the seasonal trends when it comes to nail polish. My mood and what catches my eye pretty much dictates what I’m wearing at the moment. But for those who do, here are my top 10 picks for spring and summer!
I like blues, greens and this year, the radiant orchid shade as well. Let’s get started!
01. H&M Newlyweds – This is a lovely sheer polish which has a milky white base and gold shimmer densely scattered. It looks very understated and beautiful!
02. Formula X for Sephora Standout – Possibly the only baby pink colour I have but it makes a good nude shade as well.
03. Zoya Perrie – This is...
I’ve been on a naughty haul! Well, technically, this is a collective haul over the last two months. Some of these are gifts since it was my birthday in Jan.
So I have a mix of blushes and went made over lipsticks mainly. I also got a couple of Formula X for Sephora nail polishes but I forgot to take pictures of those.
I really love everything I got. I’ve already used the mascara and the YSL lipstick in Ultimate Beige a lot, I love it! Burberry Beauty is something I was looking forward to buying. It’s expensive but it’s actually cheaper than Chanel, Dior or YSL. They have an incredible range and there’s a lot of focus on nudes as well.
Anyway, here’s the...
Revlon nail polishes never really caught my eye until they started coming up with dupes for Deborah Lipmann polishes! More on that later but for now, I’m reviewing the shade Naughty.
Naughty is a dark purple and charcoal grey duochrome polish. It also has very fine purple microshimmer which can be detected under direct light. It does look slightly pearlescent as well. However, the duochrome is subtle and not very stark like some other shades. Even so, you get a nice effect of purple in the middle and gray on the sides.
The polish is very pigmented and creamy. You need one or two coats for an opaque look. They also apply evenly and there’s not streakiness or bubbling. I’m...
It’s almost the end of a year!! Not the most eventful one for me compared to others but in general my life was more settled and I was happier! I also loved blogging all year round and all the travelling I did!
Sentiments aside, this post is to celebrate the best stuff I liked using this year! There are a couple from last year that I still use but I thought I’d also talk about newer products I liked!
Laura Mercier Mineral Powder in Honey | Mac Face and Body Foundation in C4 | Bobbi Brown Corrector in Peach
Mac Plum Foolery | Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed | Mac Peaches
Stila Merry & Bright Palette | Mac Quad | Inglot...
New Year’s Eve is arguably the only time I experiment more with makeup! This year I wanted to so a really different eye look. Now I’m no genius, this look is inspired by this. Not sure who the original blogger is but if you do, please let me know so I can give credit.
I changed it up a bit to suit my eye shape. I don’t like a lot of makeup on the bottom and I also have hooded/deep set eyes. but you will need to change the crease position depending on your eye shape. Let’s get started! ^_^
Step by Step
1. Prime your eyes, chances are pastel shades aren’t the most pigmented. You’d also need a...
This is a casual outfit to wear out at night or out for a casual stroll, a trip to the mall or just to hangout. It’s comfy and keeps you warm. Also includes an adorable panda jumper. I went ‘awwww’ when I saw this on ASOS and just had to buy it! Fortunately, it’s also good quality and very soft.
Jumper : Asos | Pants : Zara | Scarf : Accessorize | Bag : Longchamp | Grey Wedges : H&M
Rings : Asos | Lipstick : Revlon Cherries in the Snow | Nail Polish : Sephora Cement
1. Scarves! Winter is here and it’s time to bring them out! I love wearing messy knots like the one above,
2. Jumpers with cute animals are THE thing to wear if you don’t...
If anyone made a Revlon lip butter rehab, I’d be the first one to sign up. Clearly I have a problem. But fortunately, this the last one I own and to be reviewed!
Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya was released along with Wild Watermelon and was a very unlikely pick for me. It’s a very light peachy pink, leaning more on the peachy side. Compared to the swatch or tube colour, this looks quite different on my lips but I love it. It translates as a very warm light pink which surprisingly doesn’t wash me out! I feel like the name always perfectly describe the shade with lip butters.
This one is sheer and although you can’t build it up to a completely opaque...
Everyone needs atleast one bold colour in their kit/collection. If red or a bright Barbie pink is too out there for you, deep pinky reds are the next best thing.
Behold, Cherries in the Snow, a lipstick as good as the name! Revlon’s Super Lustrous range is a ancient vintage looking lipstick. It’s been around since the 1950s and if it’s lasted this long, they’re doing something right!
Cherries in the Snow is a deep raspberry pink which can be worn in so many ways. One swipe and you get a deep pink intense colour. Its pink no doubt, but depending on the lighting it can also look like a cool toned red. If you want to wear this lighter you just pat a bit on your lip and...
I’m addicted to lip butters! There were four new shades released a couple of months back and I picked up Wild Watermelon and Juicy Papaya. These do not disappoint!
Wild Watermelon is bright pinky red shade. Come to think of it, it’s a perfect lipstick to go with the Essie Watermelon Nail Polish! It can look very similar to Cherry Tart in the tube, but this is much more pink while Cherry Tart is a very warm red.
Pigmentation wise it’s sheer and buildable to medium. You don’t really get full coverage with this and even at it’s best you will still get a hint of your natural lip colour.
I love how this just glosses over your lips to make the lines disappear and...
This post is a first of sorts! I love trying new products but there are certain ones I also buy again. I think this post would be a nice way to showcase products that really work for me.
Hope you like it!
L-R | Batiste Dry Shampoo | Sunsilk Keratinology Heat Protector Spray | Bath & Body Works Into the Wild Body Lotion | Bioderma Sensibio Solution Micellaire | Burberry Brit Perfume
Clockwise | The Body Shop Hemp Lip Conditioner | Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara | Mac Select Moisture Cover Concealer | Revlon Lip Butter in Pink Truffle | Mac Technakohl Liner | Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick in My Mahogany | Urban Decay Buck (at center)
I bought this lipstick on a whim without reading any reviews and I got a nasty payback for that!
Revlon a few months ago launched the ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick range. I’ll give them props for one thing, the colour range is just brilliant. I was at Shopper’s Stop when I spotted this at the counter. I wanted a coral red type of shade and this looked perfect. It swatched well and the red wasn’t an intense one. The shade is called Finale and it’s a very warm orangey red.
The pigmentation with these lipsticks isn’t a lot. It’s sheer but buildable upto medium. It goes on a bit creamy and dries to a semi-matte finish. But if you’ve used a lip balm...
I don’t have too many few favourites for the last month. A lot of it is stuff I’ve been using for a while but failed to mention before.
August Favourites :
01. Body Mist : Nyassa : Passion Burst Body Mist (not pictured)
I got this in a Vellvette box and I’ve been keeping this in my office. I love the grapefruit scent, it’s very refreshing. The tiny bottle also makes it easy to carry on the go!
02. Toner : Avene : Gentle Toner
My previous one was very drying, but this one is so gentle and removes any leftover dirt and grime easily. I’ve really been loving Avene products, completely worth it.
03. Foundation : Mac : Face and...
I’m back with another Kissable Balm Stain review! I reviewed it in the shade Honey a few days back and I like this one just as much!
Today’s review is the shade Smitten and umm… I was say the clique… I am smitten with it.
It’s one of the more pigmented shades in the range. It looks like a really dark plum in the tube but it’s a bright plum pink. It’s definitely cool toned and looks way brighter than the usual plums. What I like about the shade is that it isn’t a neon colour, it will look good on all skintones too.
The consistency of this is thin and very balm like. But it doesn’t feel sticky or heavy on the lips. It glides really well...
Ahhh…. it’s Monday again!! While I try to beat the Monday blues with a nice cup of tea, I also attempt to be concise and objective about this review. Why? Because I love it so much, that I explode with !!!!! every few seconds!!! See what I mean?
Well, the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain’s have had tricky record in India I think. They started out with some popularity when launched and while the product is good, people were concerned about the price. But then came along Lakme Pop Tints which were more exorbitant and out went the apprehension about the Kissable Balm Stains!
I am quite late to review this, but I’ve been using it for almost 2 months now and I have...
This is a post about how excitement induced by the sight of glitter, can overcome logic and reason. You’ll have to see the photos to know what I mean.
I first came across the Superglass collection on Temptalia’s site. And it was like love at first sight. I remembered seeing these on StrawberryNet and so I lurched for them! It was on discount, I took it as a sign from the universe and bought it promptly in the shades Fab Frenzy and Totally Bang!
Now that the story’s ended, let me rave about this lip gloss a little more.
This is not the best lip gloss in terms of consistency and there are some parts of the finish that I do not like. But, I haven’t come across...
