Spring 2015 RTW : Milan Fashion Week : Part Two

Spring 2015 RTW : Milan Fashion Week : Part Two

Hey guys! Here's the second and final part of Milan Fashion Week SS15. You can catch up with Part One here. I tend to like Versace's sensual dresses, they always know how to show off a body. It was a stunning change to find more contemporary silhouettes and perforated cut out patterns. I loved how lux the grey-taupe gowns looked at the Giorgio Armani show. It's a difficult colour which looks graceful but dull. The jackets and blazers were another feature. Pleated prints were the highlight of Roberto Cavalli's show and they were…Read more
Fall 2014 RTW : Etro, Versace and Marni

Fall 2014 RTW : Etro, Versace and Marni

Here are ┬áthree execllent fall collections from Milan Fashion Week; Etro, Versace and Marni! Etro is really iconic!   Etro I seem to perfer collections drawn on culture (when done appropriatelt ofcourse). The tops, long flowing dresses with a myriad of prints and embroidery. It's a muted and warm collection, makes to think of a sunny place.   Versace With a bias cut mastered, this collection keeps the Versace moto well in mind. The dresses are fitted and very flirty. I love how they move. I'm more partial to the Raspberry red over…Read more
Spring 2014 Couture : Atelier Versace, Schiaparelli and Christian Dior

Spring 2014 Couture : Atelier Versace, Schiaparelli and Christian Dior

I'm back from Jaipur! JLF was really good this time, discovered so many new authors like Philip Hensher, Jim Crace, Jonathan Franzen etc. Also loved the sessions with Gloria Steinem and Amartya Sen. But anyway, I was so pumped about next month because of fashion week that it sort of slipped my mind that the Spring Couture shows take place right now! This actually happens every year, but I just caught it in time this year! Atelier Versace The inspiration for this collection was the iconic Grace Kelly in that classic hood giving…Read more
Spring 2014 RTW : Emporio Armani, Etro and Versace

Spring 2014 RTW : Emporio Armani, Etro and Versace

Spring 2014 RTW at Milan Fashion Week : Emporio Armani, Etro and Versace If I had to describe these three collections in one word each, they would be dreamy, prints!!! and sexy.   Emporio Armani 94 looks is an enormous collection! I tried my best to edit it down to 35, so this most will be very image heavy! I liked the feminine side that was shown in this collection. The stockings, satin, duochrome materials. It all has a very whimsical feel to it. We get a hint of the pyjama collection again…Read more
Fall 2013 Couture : Giambattista Valli, Atelier Versace, Jean Paul Gaultier and Ulyana Sergeenko

Fall 2013 Couture : Giambattista Valli, Atelier Versace, Jean Paul Gaultier and Ulyana Sergeenko

So here's my final post on the Fall 2013 Couture collections. Giambattista Valli in a gorgeous floral collection, Atelier Versace bringing sexy back, Jean Paul Gaultier and cougars and finally, Ulyana Sergeenko with her take on vintage with a modern twist.   Giambattista Valli Inspired by porcelain, I love this collection. The silhouettes are daring but look less harsh because of the beautiful prints and embroidery. Atelier Versace There was a lot of skin at the Verace show but some very coveted pieces as well. The coat with the logo belt and detailing…Read more
Resort 2014 : Christian Dior, Versus Versace and Etro

Resort 2014 : Christian Dior, Versus Versace and Etro

Resort 2014 collections are trickling in very slowly and I just can't find them all in one place. I don't know why some of the sites are holding back on publishing them. Oh well, I have 3 collections to review here - ┬áChristian Dior by Raf Simmons, Versus Versace by J.W. Anderson and Etro! Let's begin! Christian Dior Showcased in Monaco, Dior's collection had that air of elegance and a grandiose location to present it. Placed in a yacht, it was quite the obvious choice for a resort collection. The looks have that…Read more

Fall 2013 Couture : Versace

Versace's couture collection was very well received and deservedly so. There was so much colour, feminine and sensual pieces there. They incorporated a lot of new fabrics and intricate work on the bodice as well. The opening blazer and skirt with the large belt was a knock out. It looks so simple and yet had so much detail it in. I loved the gowns with the tight bodice, slit open leg and layers and flowing trail. They all look gorgeous. Many of the gowns had cut outs with crystals covering them up. They…Read more
