OOTD : Lace and Contrast

This is a really casual chic outfit I love wearing if I’ve heading out for a movie or a casual date. It’s simple and light for summers.       Top : Miss Selfridge | Jeans : Miss Selfridge | Cardigan : Miss Selfridge | Clutch : Forever New | Heels : Dorothy Perkins Necklace : Fab Alley | Bracelets : Fab Alley and Westside  Lips : Mac Super Glass Totally Bang | Nails : Illamasqua Phallic | Toes : Zoya Alegra 1. Monochrome can at times feel too simple. Add more depth by using pieces with different textures throughout the outfit. 2. Adding a little bit of colour with accessories does help! I chose the floral clutch as an ode to...

April 2013 Favourites

I have a lot of old favourites this month and a couple of new ones as well. Some of the products are ones I use every week and I somehow always overlooked them for these posts. So let’s get started!             01. Nail Polish : Illamasqua : Phallic Phallic is such a beautiful deep shimmery blue. You could say it’s the perfect midnight blue. I will gush more about this in a another dedicated post, but I was wearing this a lot this month. I really loved the quality as well.   02. Nail Polish : Illamasqua : Viridian I bought this and Phallic at the same time. I’m in love with this as well. It looks amazing on nails. I was pretty much...

Zoya Robyn Nail Polish

Zoya Robyn Nail Polish

Today, I’ll be sharing with you one of my treasure trove purchases! You see, for the vast majority of my life I’ve been a person who only wore silver or black nail polish. No, I wasn’t a goth but I did like my black polish and clung to it with my dear life! Now I was very intrigued by Zoya as I had just heard a lot about the brand and was on a major hauling spree (bad!). I saw this particular one and it just called out to me! It’s such a pretty bright blue! Robyn also happens to be my very first blue nail polish! I had never tried Zoya before and I was very nervous about how it would turn out. The formulation is excellent! No streaking, it spreads evenly. It’s...

Zoya Kristin Nail Polish

Zoya Kristin Nail Polish

No matter not often you might wear it, or not, everyone needs a perfect red nail polish. When I bought this, my first thought was “I’m never going to wear this on my nails!! But it’s so pretty!! I need one!!”. Ofcourse, that notion didn’t last long. I wear red on my nails now and it’s safe to say that I’m out of the nude nail closet. And this one is my first red nail polish. Zoya’s Kristin is a gorgeous red and you can’t quite place the kind of red it falls under. When you see the bottle, it appears as a deeper red. When you put it on, it has a pink undertone to it. But it certainly is  a blue based red. So, in a gist, I’d...

December 2012 Favourites

December was a month for Mac products! I had an early birthday haul and found a few awesome new products!               01. Perfume : Narciso Rodriguez : For her (edt) This was on my wishlist and I found a lucky discount and decided to buy it! I love the scent and lingers on all day.   02. Lipstick : Maybelline : Colorsensation Moisture Extreme : Brick Rose This is one of the best reds to wear for the fall and winter. Very appropriate for red shy girls like me.   03. Lipstick : Mac : Fast Play This is my favourite everyday lipstick. It’s darker than your usual MLBB shade but it suits me really well.   04. Blush : Mac ...

Zoya Midori Nail Polish

Zoya Midori Nail Polish

Zoya Midori is a really unique shade that I haven’t really found elsewhere. It’s a bright yellow green with orange-brown duochrome. What acombination! The duochrome is much more subtle when worn than it appears in the bottle. I like the consistency of the polish, it’s not too thick but not very runny either. The bright green has a strong yellow undertone and is really striking. Not the best fall or holiday colour but good for a quirky night out or summer look.  It’s a pearl finish and the shimmer is very subtle. Thea application is very streaky and in that respect I’m a bit disappointed. I never have those issues with other Zoya polishes.  You need 2-3 coats...

Zoya Lisa Nail Polish

Zoya Lisa Nail Polish

Zoya’s Lisa is recently hauled and I love it! It’s a bright red colour that’s blue based with red and gold microshimmer. It really brightens up when it catches the light. It’s very creamy in consistency inspite of the micro shimmer. It gives an opaque finish in just one coat or 2; depends how to apply it. I’m so pleased with the quality! I’m not a fan of bright red polish on my fingers, but I love having this on my toes. The brush isn’t very wide but workable. I’m more comfortable with Sephora or O.P.I brushes. It lasts for almost the entire week without chipping. That said, if you love red polishes, don’t miss this one! I know there are...

March 2012 Favourites

It’s the time of the month! I mean, to err… talk about my favourites! The products mentioned below are not only the most used this month but also what I would reach out for the most on occasion. Onto the list! But a pretty picture first. ; 01. Concealer : MAC : Moisture Select Concealer : NW35 I have panda eyes. Although, that doesn’t make me look cute! To be very honest, if I completely cover them with heavy concealer, it just looks really unnatural. I think that to look a bit natural, some unevenness should be there, and not a plain mannequin. Just a tinsy bit. Moisture Select is what I started using this month. It’s not creamy and yet it stays on so well. I lasts...

BLAB Haul and Review

Last month I hauled from Blab.co.in and got a couple of things. Its a got a great selection of brands including some higher end ones like Shiseido, YSL. I got a hair spray, 3 nail polishes and a face cream! My Haul Tigi Bedhead Massive Shine Hair Spray – I have the Tigi Catwalk range I’m quite impressed with it. Tigi in India is hard to come by so I decided to try out Bed Head. I’ve heard rave reviews about this one and I hope it adds some much needed shine to my hair. I also like the smell, its fruity. Zoya Amminah – Its a beautiful sheer white duochrome polish. I like wearing sheer ones on my fingers for office. It has a purplish sheen to it. Zoya Lisa –...
