You might look at this and think it kind of looks similar to Soap & Glory. That’s what I thought when I across Dirty Works. Same retro wit product lines but Dirty Works is like the less expensive sister of Soap & Glory.
I came across the range on MedPlusBeauty eons ago and I bought a couple of the products. Clearly, I was in my blogger exploring mood.
The Dirty Works Vitamin C Brightening Mask is basically a face mask and a scrub. The scrub part is something I realised after buying it. The mask itself unlike any other I’ve tried is a very very thick paste. It has a strong orange scent which is way too funky for me, I didn’t like it at all but I can tolerate it.
It does contain kaolin, so I imagine the thickness comes from the clay properties. It goes over the skin very smoothly but a mild annoyance are the uneven chunky scrub particles. I generally let it be for 10-15 minutes and then remove the mask with warm water. Initially I used to scrub my face as well but it was a bit too abrasive for me. Now I just swipe it away.
In terms of actual results, this does brighten your skin and it looks super clean. Probably lasts a day but it’s perfect to use if you’re going out and want to look your best. I feel like it really cleanses the skin and it does it’s job well. In winters, my skin does feel a bit dry after using this. Now in humid weather, it just feels really clean. I guess it would be better suited for normal to oily skintypes.
However, I won’t be repurchasing this mainly because I don’t like the smell and the scrub particles. When it comes to Vitamin C, there are plenty of other masks in the market. The packaging is quite nice and sturdy plastic. You get 100ml of product for around Rs. 600.
