May 2015 Favourites

Happy Monday! I thought I’d present what I’ve been loving lately, there’s a mix of old and new products this time round.

I generally don’t have too many new favourites month to month. But every 2-3 months I have a lot more new products to share without it getting too repetitive.

May 2015 Favourites

01. Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter Body Lotion :: As much as I like The Body Shop it can get boring to use them at a stretch. I was quite happy to find this at Sephora. I had used The Righteous Body Butter before and I loved the scent. The body lotion version is perfect to use in summer for my dry skin. It’s very moisturizing but not as thick as a body butter. I also love that it comes with a pump, makes it very quick to use.

02. Dior 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette in Gris Gris :: Review :: This is quite an old palette but I recently got into it again. The eyeshadows are still in great shape, the colours are perfect for creating that classic silver/black smokey eye. It was one of my first high end purchases so it’s quite special to me!

03. Nyx Cream Blush in Tea Rose :: I honestly think it’s one of the best cream blushes ever. The formula is very very creamy. The muted pink shade also looks very natural and office appropriate (for me).

04. Clinique Chubby Stick Shadow Tint For Eyes in Fuller Fudge :: I love the colour, it’s a very warm brown with just the right amount of shimmer. I like wearing it everyday to office and it lasts well for most of the day. It’s very blendable but it does not stay in place! It doesn’t really set and I guess that’s my only problem with it. I’ll still use it, but I won’t be buying another.

05. Lakme 9 to 5 Lip Liner in Brick Rose :: I’m so impressed with this! I’m very much into lip liners now! Lip liner + lip balm on top is just amazing. The colour is your standard browny pink shade. The formula is quite creamy and easy to apply. It’s matte like any other lip liner but I don’t find it too uncomfortable.

06. Mac Lip Liner in Soar :: Another lip liner favourite! Soar is a nice mauvy pink. It’s very creamy and easy to apply. I’ve only ever tried Nyx and Lakme lip liners before, Mac are a lot more comfortable!

07. Mac Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Fairly Precious :: It’s been the month for highlighters! I don’t know what’s gotten into me but I’ve been loving using just a highlighter. Fairly Precious is a very peachy shade and the highlight imparts a good amount of colour and shine.

08. Dior Addict Extreme Lipstick in Cherie Bow :: Other than lip liners, I’ve also been loving sheer moisturising lipsticks. For some reason (possibly weather change) my lips are quite dry at the moment. Cherie Bow is a soft baby pink that just manages to not wash me out.

09. Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick in Scenario :: I love the Rouge Coco Shine range and Scenario is a new favorite. It’s quite dark in the tube but it’s actually a nice warm brown. It’s similar to Clinique Black Honey.

Let me know what you’ve been loving this month! ^_^

Aah so glad to find another Chanel Scenario fan! :-)

I like it lot but I have to be careful to not put on too much!

Nice picks! I recently tried my very first NYX blush and I love it! Writing about it tomorrow. I’m gonna remember Tea Rose for next time.

    • Xuvious

I’ve always wanted to try the powder blushes, especially Taupe.

  • Linda Libra Loca

I just got my hands on my first Chubby Stick for eyes in Beige and so far I like it, although the color is barely there even on my fairer skin.

It works great as a highlighter though.

Fullest Fudge is also very similar to my lid colour but it’s nice to even it out. The shimmer is also subtle enough to be work appropriate for me. :)

      • Linda Libra Loca

Yes, I wear it to work quite often, too.

  • fiona furtado

You have such ahhmazing favourites. I have tried scenario at the Chanel counter and liked it but ended up picking boheme I think.

    • Xuvious

Thanks Fiona! I love Boheme too, my favourite after Liberte. :)

  • Sunny @Mostly Sunny

These are definitely pieces I might wear! Scenario is probably too brownish for me tho. I always envy people who can pull these brownish rosy shades off. On me they look really bad!

    • Xuvious

Yea I have to be careful to not apply too many layers of Scenario, it can look too harsh on me too. But with 1-2 layers it’s very flattering. :)

  • Clever Girl Reviews

I love the look of the Chanel but it’s probably too brown for me!

    • Xuvious

Yea, I imagine it’s not too popular because of that but a light layer is how it looks best even on me. :)

  • Paro

Loving everything…The whole Dior’s 5 couleurs eyeshadows range looks really pretty. Got me eyes on the brown, golden ones xx

    • Xuvious

Some of those palette combinations have been around for ages, so classic.

  • Lorraine Haigney

I can’t look at highlighters at the minute, I’m on such a kick! The Extra Dimension one these is gorgeous, but I’m gonna wait for the MAC Wash and Dry one. Sucker for packaging.

    • Xuvious

MAC Wash and Dry is stunning! I saw it on the counter recently, didn’t buy anything but I really liked it. :)

  • Krithi Marla

    Nice set of favorites
Agree , using same brand get really bored
    Evdn I keepexoloring
I’m off late addicted to skincare and planning to post soon :)

    • Xuvious

I need to check if you posted that!
I’m done with The Body Shop for the moment, used too much of it! :p

      • Krithi Marla

        Yes I did post
        Have a look

  • Kristen / Glambunctious

Fuller Fudge looks gorgeous! I just picked up one of those shadow sticks in an olive green color; I’m hoping I can get it to set by layering another shadow over it? Scenario looks gorgeous! I love brown-toned lipsticks and haven’t bought a single Coco Shine since they launched and I got Boy! I love The Righteous Butter in any format. They also make a shower gel called Clean On Me in the original pink fragrance (same as the Righteous Butter) and WOW – YUM x 10! Lately I’ve been digging a Clinique blush I’ve had for years but never really delved into. It’s called Cupid. I don’t know how I’ve overlooked it’s glory all this time!!

    • Xuvious

Aah, I should try layering as well. I haven’t really used it with other products, I generally just use it everyday when I’m perpetually in a hurry! :)
It’s so nice to rediscover things from the stash, saves money too. :p

  • Agata

Everyone has been raving about Soar lip liner, I think I might have to get my hands on it! I also have never tried NYX blushes!

All in all, really nice picks!

    • Xuvious

I’d actually also suggest trying Whirl as well! Soar can sometimes looks too plummy, Whirl has a bit of brown in it. :)

  • Jessica

i have a mini dior palette that’s really similar to that one that came free with a mascara but it’s got more blue shades mixed with silver and i’m just not sure how to wear it! for some reason i’m really intimidated by super cool toned shadows, especially blues, but i have seen them look gorgeous on other people! might have to just try it out one day and see how i go.

    • Xuvious

Oh blue/silver is a lovely combination! I think the trick to keep it looking subtle is toning down rest of the makeup.

  • nausheen

Those are some awsome products :)

  • Jaa

I love the formulation of Dior Addict Extreme! I have to check out Cherie Bow. :) It doesn’t look baby pink in the photo, though. I’m glad to hear it doesn’t wash you out!

    • Xuvious

I love how moisturising it is! It’s not the kind of shade I usually go for but it’s sheer enough to work well. :)
